jittery video with streaming quicktime video uni MBP

Ok, so anyway, I was looking at videos on the apple website using firefox and was experiencing bad playback, the video was flickering; I thought "oh no my MBP has the dreaded graphics bug" but when I checked the same videos on safari, it was fine. this has lead me to believe there is a problem with firefox... any suggestions?

I had a flickering thing once, my MB had been on for about 2 weeks, so I decided I should turn it off. That cured it.

I'm sure there's a bigger explanation but this worked for me.
