Since upgrading to 10.5.8, my external WD My Book connected to the MacBook Pro (circa 2006) via a Best Connection JMicron-based express eSATA card has stopped being recognized and listed in the Finder upon boot up.

1) Has any one else had the same experience?

2) How does one remedy the problem?

3) Is it possible to revert back to OS 10.5.7?

Up until 10.5.8, the JMicron-based card was natively supported by the OS. One did not need to download a driver. It appears that now, a driver needs to be downloaded. Went to the JMicron site, under Support (http://www.jmicron.com/Driver.htm) and downloaded and installed the Mac OS driver. That fixed the problem. The card and the external drive work like a champ again.

Also note, that with the upgrade from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8, my energy settings were changed back to default. Had to change them so the MacBook Pro never goes to sleep, and UNCHECKED put the drives to sleep when possible.
