Basically this is a first for me hearing this. Not sure for others it is common.

So I am reviewing materials and wanted to ask everyone what are key things I should really have memorize. I do have experience in CSS and XHTML but seriously what kind of test this can be. What the interviewer told me over the phone are small task that if I knew HTML and its functions will be 45mins if I know it by memory, 1 hour if I rely websource and more if I don't know. This is not high end web developer position, more like good start for my transition (or addition) of print to web.

If you have site that gives me a good study guide or word of advice from your own experience, I will appreciate it.

    thank you,
    MR

I had one interview where they wanted to test my programming capabilities and asked me to write code that would print out the prime numbers from 1 to 100. That was the extent of the testing though.

An HTML test sounds pretty easy, but I suppose they could get fanciful. As long as you know your stuff though you should be fine. They tend not to do too many trick questions and mainly just want to weed out the wanna be web designers.

Just know your basics. When I had my interviews with Macromedia, they asked all sorts of technical questions, but the in the end of it, I think they just wanted to analyze thought process. I was asked things like:

    • What is the difference between a class and an ID
    • Issues about validation, standard compliant code
    • Browser rendering issues
    • I even wrote some mysql statements
    • They showed me CSS and I identified what was wrong
    • Identify property, selector, value

They also asked me how I would debug a broken toaster, so go figure :p
