So, let me git this straigh: Jobs is using Pixar as a leverage in order to benefit Apple?

There are few problems with that: Pixar and Apple are two separate companies. Yes, they happen to have the same CEO, but other than that, there's no connection between the two. If Jobs (as a CEO of Apple) leverages Pixar in negotiations with content-providers, I think it would be a clear conflict of interests. As a CEO of Pixar, he needs to do what's best for Pixar. As a CEO of Apple, he needs to do what's best for Apple. But he has to keep those separate. If he uses Pixar as a weapon when Apple negotiates with others, it could mean things for Pixar which are not ideal. Apple would benefit, but Pixar would not.

Now, if Apple and Pixar merged, then it would be different. But since they are separate companies, there could be problems with this kind of negotiations.
