I would rather have Apple get this right than put out some half something just to appease shareholders. I get tired of Apple doing half-baked stuff.

I personally am in no rush for Apple to push AI stuff. yeah..it has its usage and has its benefits, but it looks like if developed will do TOO MUCH background tasks to just run stuff without desire and say "I think this is better". Just like correcting or anticipating tying or change text. I have to turn off automatic correction etc. It "thinks" it knows better. I would prefer AI to be a tool (has advantages), but if it is built into the fabric of the OS or is the main manager of the OS, it may have advantages, but I would rather have control of actions instead of just AI doing it.

Again, I am not a hater of AI, but don't want it to do things without my input.

The irony is even if they had released it and put it into a “beta” state indefinitely (like Google tends to do) everybody would be complaining as well. For something like this, I get the disappointment and frustration when it was heavily marketed. But personally I’d still prefer they get it right. They have a track record of releasing things that are already at a high level of quality (not every time, but a lot) so personally I feel like they have enough “equity” in the bank to do what they did here, even if click bait journalists like to jump on the criticism bandwagon. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah that’s what I said, thanks for reaffirming my point.
Look, disclaimer here: English is not my mother-tongue, so there's a possibility of a misunderstanding on my side.

For the sake of clarity, what I was saying, is that Apple has very often compared itself to the competitors, throughout its history, in advertising campaigns, keynotes, public interviews, etc.

So if that's what you were saying, yes, I was reaffirming your point.

If comparing products to the competition I’d say they dropped the ball.

If comparing the timeline of shipping to market I’d say they dropped the ball.

If comparing shipping features they promised, I’d also say they dropped the ball.

If you don’t agree that’s fine. We’re both entitled to opinions but I believe they should’ve done better considering their standing in the market, talent and resources available.
Now, Now, Now....
Let's not let actual facts muddy the waters of a good argument..... LOL ;)
