I bought an iPad from John Lewis and received it yesterday, it doesn’t turn on, tried charging it, nothing. Anyway I phoned John Lewis and they said they can replace it as long as I have all the original packaging for the iPad, I have all the original packaging for the iPad apart from the paper thats protecting the charger and card that held the lightning lead together, should this be a problem. And I know it always seems like I have a problem, I can’t help my luck. Also once John Lewis receive the faulty iPad will they inspect it or just issue the replacement? Thanks

They should just replace it. Don’t worry about the paper and card that shouldn’t be an issues as long as the iPad and charger are there.

Thank you, do you think they’ll inspect the fault before replacing it or just replace it instantly? Thanks

Spoke with John Lewis again as I was wondering if they can repair my iPad but they told me as I am sending it back it will have to be a refund, they cannot replace it unless I take it to a store, only refund, they said once it reaches their warehouse the refund will be processed.

Even thou it was bought online can’t you return it to your local store for a exchange
Don’t live anywhere near one unfortunately, just read through John Lewis reviews and have gotten myself worried because so many people had issues with John Lewis sending back items returned

Honestly, what are you doing with your devices. I looked at your account and in just over a year you’ve had:

*Battery problems with your iPhone 8 plus
*Problems with the glass of your iPhone 8 plus
*A loose home button on your iPad 5th gen
*A bright pixel and light bleed on your iPhone 8 plus
*Problems with the shipment of your OnePlus 6
*Problems with your iPhone XS Max while using your hand moisturiser.
*Problems with uneven glass on your iPhone XR
*A spider scratching your iPhone screen
*Problems with bubbles between your iPhone XR and silicon case
*Dropped your iPhone XS Max in the toilet
*Problems when putting an Otterbox case on your iPhone XS Max and bend it
*Problems with the Oleophobic coating on your iPad because you dropped ink on it
*Glue between the backglass and frame of your iPhone XR

And now you’ve received a dead iPad.

Are you trolling, or are you just really bad in handling your devices?

I ain’t trolling and in some of my posts you can actually see pictures of the issues, I guess I’m picky but I’m no troll.

I had a really bad time with John Lewis. (ok in the end) I returned an iPhone SE, unused. Whatever the mix up was, it was returned back to me saying it had been used and had personal information on it. Email tennis lasted 2 months, in the end I got permission to take it in store for full refund.

My experience exactly. I handed everything over to Amex who are currently disputing the charge. Their behaviour was outrageous. I'd rather chew glass than use them again.

I just laughed at loud at this, thanks for making my night.

Hi , according to tracking they received my return this morning, how long does it usually take for them to email me to say they’ve received the item.

I didn't go that particular route, so I'm sorry, but I haven't got a clue. I'd chase it up if I were you. Try phoning them.
