great just had a phonecall off JL the bank are blocking the payment
after ordering just after midnight and when entered card details it failed 1st time but them went through but JL are saying now payment problem from bank

When I called up John Lewis customer service earlier today the person on the line said there was a hold-up with my order and that he'd check with the orders department - and afterwards said everything had been sorted out now. Not sure if that's a common thing to happen? Though after that I checked and there was a hold on my card for that.
What bank is it? Maybe they have a problem their end and all transactions are being declined.
I went to a store one and they had a note up saying "we are currently not excepting Abbey National Cards".

They haven't taken the money from my account, or even placed a hold on it, yet. I've had email confirmation, and my Order Status says "Delivery on 17/03/2012" so I assume everything's fine? Bit strange to still not have the funds on hold in my account

I have had the same thing only mine was cancelled because I couldnt take the call at office.
Had to get my card unblocked(1hr on the phone with natwest) and have ordered again.
I can see the money is now on hold and it says delivered tom for pickup

mine is all sorted now
not sure if it was a bank (Halifax) or a JL issue but just spoke to CS and order has gone through fine and funds took from bank

same discount has me dude but i ordered 2 64GB wifi ipads
My iPad says processing the delivery states dispatched and the 2yr guarantee also states dispatched gave them a call earlier tonight everything is fine and delivery tomorrow as planned.
Well, then I guess I was very lucky! I called them at 12:00, and they said the delivery guys were not running on time. I finally got it at around 13:00.
