I just saw this video of the intro of the unibody MacBook in 2008.

I thought i saw a white apple watch sport band Maybe he based it on one his watches

Just thought it'd be a bit interesting to see

Good eye! The Apple sport band is pretty much a direct copy of Newson's late 1990s Ikepod design...

After nearly 20 years of synthetic rubber progress since Newson's 1996 version, one would hope so

Jony and Marc were already good friends. Marc's advice must have been a huge influence on the Watch's design from the very beginning.
