I really dont understand.

How come only iPhone 16 Pro has JPEGXL and less files size for ProRAW? At least it should also supports iPhone 15 Pro.

With iPhone 16 Pro, ProRAW only takes 20mb while iPhone 15 Pro takes 75mb(!!!) That's a huge difference.

So how come?

My best guess is that JPEGXL is hardware optimized and only supported on the A18 processor, which is why us on the 15 Pro won't get the feature. ProRAW file sizes shouldn't be that different. Are you sure you're not comparing 12MP vs 48MP ProRAW images?

ProRAW images on 16 Pro are only about 20 mb when JPEG XL lossy is used, with losless option they are bigger...

In my optinion it is just software limitation, so the 16 has another exclusive feature. E.g. Lightroom can also export to JPEG XL on any other older phone.
