Looks great. And it's meant to look big, that's it's whole Raison D'Etre!

But I would very respectfully suggest that you stop asking for complete strangers opinions, don't give a rats ass what other people think, go with what you want and enjoy it.
Very true. And I don’t! I actually think I can pull it off, but i wanted to be sure I’m not crazy lol

Let’s not kid ourselves. People wear accecories to get noticed and impress other people. No owner of AWU walks to a coffee shop and doesn’t think ”now others will see that I’m wearing AWU oh yeah”. So those other opinions are very relevant.

Looks good to me. What are you upgrading from? I'm on a Series 4 and the ultra looks tempting but maybe not justifiable yet as an upgrade..maybe next time around.
Coming from a 41mm series 5 titanium. I always felt that was too small, but wanted to explore how crazy the 49mm actually was. It is a large watch, but primarily in its height. It’s a tall watch, but the width is reasonable.

I honestly think the 45mm is the perfect size

I’m going to go against the grain and say it looks a bit too big to me. Maybe don’t ask in an Apple Watch enthusiast subforum with regard to the flagship model? :)
Lol I appreciate the candor. The final decision to keep/return will def come up to me, but I just wanted to gauge what a third-party audience would think.

Don't speak for everyone. I've got an Apple Watch Altra and most certainly don't walk anywhere thinking that!

I have seen quite a few pics where I felt the ultra looked pretty big, but I think it looks fine on your arm. I will say I’m in that “old school” camp where I like masculine looks on guys, and I find the ultra to have a masculine look (not that the others can’t or don’t).

I wish my husband wasn’t an Apple traitor because I know I’d love it on him as well.

I don’t..and I frequent a lot of coffee shops. Like most people here, I appreciate Apple products and just want the best version I can afford. I don’t really care what other people think, but I’m happy to answer and questions/comments from people if the watch catches their eye.

View attachment 2140526Hi guys,

I’ve always wanted to give the AWU a shot, but was always concerned about how it’d fit on my small-ish wrists. I decided to pick one up today to try out and see how it felt. So far, it’s not as bulky as expected and I kinda like it. However, I’d like to get other opinions.

Do you guys think I’m able to pull of the watch or it too big? Be honest please :)
I don't get why you need to ask a bunch of strangers on the internet ... if YOU like it, keep it and if not, return it

LMAO!!! I don't think that at all.. Even when I wear my Rolex I don't think that. In fact I tend to shy away from drawing attention to it as much as possible.

I looked at the first picture before I read your message and didn't notice anything 'off' about the watch. I think it looks completely normal.

Measured my wrist this morning and I’m about 155mm in circumference. If you’re around that size, I think it’ll look totally reasonable on you
No, because proportions. And proportions haven't changed just because the wrist watch in question is made by Apple and is an amazing value:

The size of the case and the depth/thickness of the Ultra with its 49x44x14 case will look disproportionate on anyone with a wrist below 9-9.5 inches.

Yes, I'm fully aware of the numerous night-and-day pros the Ultra has over standard AW and how abysmal some use cases can be for the standard AW because of its (comparatively) terrible battery life.

But I don't want to hear anymore of this "it looks fine on anyone" -No, on average sized wrists, male or female, it looks like a big medical device that your GP is having you wear during your checkup to do an EKG, or some wrist worn GPS hiking computer.

A wrist in the 7.5"-9" range can do the 42mm-45mm.

Below 7" range, you only have one AW option, 42mm.

Wrists above 9.5 is where the Ultra looks proportionate and starts looking like a wrist watch.

Sucks, I know. But its just how the human eye/mind looks at shapes and sizes.

Sorry, I don't agree with really any of this. How many people you know have a wrist above or even at 9 inches? I am a BIG guy and my wrist is 8 inches. That's super large, and most a good number of bands fit on the very last hole or aren't wearable at that size.

Keep the Watch but change the Watch face, can’t even tell what time it is! Plus you might like to add a couple of complications.

Weird though, I only ever saw that face once on mine when I first got it, and I can’t find it now.

It’s big for a watch but not that big for a smart watch imo

My wrist size is also 155mm.
I think we're in the lower limit but it works.

I've been wearing my AWU 24/7 (except for the occasional charging) for a month and I got used to it in about a day.
Loving it so far.

Reactions of people I see often have varied from not noticing the difference from my previous Series 3, to getting compliments from people that know little about watches or Apple.

Enjoy

Looks great!
