Banning is not political / it’s a security risk, much of it classified due to ways and means.. a greater one than anyone on here seems to even know.
Just because the person in the WH says it's a security risk doesn't mean it is. As a matter of fact, the lack of any public evidence surrounding it almost ensures he's lying and is just butt-hurt over the TikTok prank played on his rally.

Not a day goes by where something he says is a proven lie. It's unfortunate we cannot even trust what our President tells us.

Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland… you know, those communist countries in Northern Europe. Incidentally, they also have free healtcare as well. Free as in shared tax burden.

But you don't want that. You'd better stick to keeping your militia armed with lots of guns, in case there is an insurgency come election day.

I know Canada has free healthcare but who has free college?!???”

Good Job USA screwing your own president's power. No wonder everyone like to live and do business in USA. Rip benefits and when you are challened; use it's judiciary system to fend off and continue doing the same without consequences. USA is doomed in long term. Learn Chinese and be prepared to work for them. Accept no shame to that.
It's hard being on top, you get a lot of haters. But it's part of being on top.

Next in line.

It's called separation of powers, a really good thing about the good ole US that also happens to prevent Donnie from making a coup d'etat and installing the Trump dynasty dictatorship.

And yeah, you should learn Chinese and be prepared to work for them, because they are about to whoop yer behinds in quite a few areas. 更别说中国是一个值得佩服的文化,所以当然应该学习汉语。

I am Australian and that's exactly how we see it. Our Medicare is subsidised by the taxpayer through government revenue and the Medicare levy. The UK people also see it this way as a subsidised thing (ie the NHS).

The rest of the world do see things from this point of view.

Outside the USA equal access is not an issue. Because Medicare and the NHS is available to everyone in the nation. It's not at all attached to your employer and job like it is in the USA. It's run by the federal government is both countries.

I don't blame you though. You didn't know I am not a US citizen and was talking from a "rest of the world" perspective.

USA politicians are attached by the hip to the insurance industry and malpractice lawyers. That’s why, when Dems controlled both the White House and the Congress, we got that nightmare called Obamacare. They *could* have passed comprehensive national healthcare, but that would have put their friends in the health insurance industry out of business.

You should be able to block something known to be a national security concern. You shouldn't overuse such authority, but that does not mean taking such action is inherently wrong.

We have free education in Finland, including college. Also our education system is rated one of the best in the world. Of course it's not free as we pay more taxes, but I think it works out great as it motivates people to study more and it creates higher value jobs.
Tiny homogenous countries are so cute when they tell other countries what they do. Good for you. Finland has a smaller population than many US major metropolitan areas. Its useless information for the USA because the USA is not a tiny homogenous country. The closest countries in structure to the USA are Brazil and India.

The internet does have regulation. We have all sorts of regulation on privacy but also laws protecting children and others who may not be able to protect themselves. But these should NOT be baked into the technology. The phone system and snail mail don’t inherently prevent me from using them to plot an illegal scheme, why should the internet? The instant we modify the medium of expression to have our government protect us from ourselves we curtail our ability for free speech and chip away at the foundations of our country.

I hear your point and what that homogeneous population gives them that allows this is the ability to quickly feel like one people. However just because this is the case doesn’t mean their wrong. They can give us some serious crap for not acting like one people like we claim to be. In fact, lately we are doing the exact opposite and pushing each other away. We always prided ourselves on being able to look past our differences to the foundations of freedom that we all are supposed to hold in common. I feel right now they certainly have ground to call us out.

Its easy to spend nothing on national defense when you live in the shadow of peace created by others. Maybe next time a country wants to take those over we will let them.

Everything is a trade off and nothings perfect.

Yep, smarter people translates less dimwitted comments like “wood1208” who do not understand what patriotism means. What trump is doing is an updated version of what Cuba did to the USA way back when. I wonder why China is not retaliating - too weak to?

There really isn't anything comparable that Cuba did. These actions by the president are actually closer to what China is doing with their businesses and tech. You can argue the reasons but this is government regulating and controlling business. It is also curtailing a communication tool. These are communist actions very similar to the tactics of Chinese government.

Wow, what a piece of work... not a clue as to what makes America special.
I don't think anyone has any issues with Chinese culture. The government on the other hand...

The Chinese government (CCP) is a disgrace and the biggest threat to the world than anything else. They need to be taught that their actions on trade, appalling human rights abuses, complete disregard for international law has very serious consequences for them and China. Once their economy slows to 2% on a longer term and if that happens before their debt and property bubbles are reigned in then its going to be one massive pop

I rather work for Indian or Europeans than Chinese.

That’s an extremely US centric way of looking at it. Much of the rest of the world doesn’t see things from this view point.

Equal access to all is the real difference I think you will find.
You're both pretty much right about it, though. Everyone contributes to the system (like paying taxes) so that everyone can have access to it.

Good. It’s high time the judicial and legislative branches of government reign in the executive branch. The same people who screamed loudly against Obama ruling by executive orders are now silent to Trump.

We'll beat them the only place it matters... military.

Military is not the place it matters anymore. We have been in a place of mutually assured economic destruction since the 60’s. Both sides know that if military war does break out between us neither would survive as is. It would be a massive depression for both sides. Both the US and China largely hold their militaries to be the global good guys in smaller conflicts.

Do you realize that about ~47% of all Americans don't pay Federal income taxes? I mean they pay Sales, Local, and State taxes etc which is why many Community Colleges are free for US Citizens if they maintained certain qualifications during high school, and live within that Community College's community.

Thats what everyone always says. We are beyond war....blah 1914 here we come. Maybe we are, but sadly totalitarian regimes like China just have a way of being pathological. The Chinese have some of the richest culture in the world but their leaders are basically evil and facing huge problems in the next century like population implosion. Balancing all those problems has often led nations to find an external target to go after.
