Apple hasn't released any OS on a Friday. They have all been on Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesday. If this is being released via Mac App Store they might release it on the 23rd, which would kind of make sense with the way Apple does things. So yea, my money is either on the 23rd like you said or the 25th which I have said in other posts.

Wow You certantly researched the dates:D

Look:

-Tiger: Friday 29 April, 2005
-Leopard: Friday 26 October, 2007
-Snow Leopard: Friday August 28, 2009
-Lion: ???? July, 2011??

Crickey you have good broadband sir! 3.33+Mb per second realistic download speed? (Assuming Lion is 4GB, 20/4 = 5... 5 mins per 1GB... 1000/300 = 3.33Mbps)

I, personally, have a 50Mb/s connection (6.25MB/s), realistically, it's usually 3-4MB/s from Apple due to good servers.

Some of our country are upgrading to 100Mb/s (12.5MB/s) :(

I think it WILL be on the 29th because the only patern i am seeing on the previous releases is the LAST friday of every month.. So lets wait and see

Not an unrealistic speed in the UK. Last year I had a 50Mb connection. Which = roughly 6MB/s download speed. Virgin now offer double that speed.

On a 6MB connection it would take you 2 minutes and 50 seconds per GB.

True, I was going to compare to the iPhone 4 meltdown but that is a different story. Free upgrades for me since I just got another mac recently and got the BTS promo card that I will use for other computers to upgrade.

You won't have to :) Lion can be installed on all the macs you own, as long as you own it in the appstore
