Just wondering but has Apple ever released two products in the same week? Lion and Mac Pros?

I'm thinking that Lion could come a little before the hardware updates.

(I'm personally hoping that Lion comes July 1st :D, I'm excited. But knowing how people are saying it's not ready yet, I'm guessing mid to late July as well.)

Why so soon? It's full of so many little bugs, the longer they take the better. They should spend another 6 months perfecting it before it's released. No need to rush it Snow Leopard is doing the job just fine.

Mac OS X v10.0 "Cheetah" - March 24, 2001
Mac OS X v10.1 "Puma" - September 25, 2001
Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar" - August 24, 2002
Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther" - October 24, 2003
Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger" - April 29, 2005
Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard" - October 26, 2007
Mac OS X v10.6 "Snow Leopard" - August 28, 2009
Mac OS X v10.7 "Lion" - ?? July

end of july probably

well i don't know but the fact that Lion is download only (so no GM mass mastering processes which need time) makes me believe it will be sooner rather than later. Obviously unless it is not stable enough :D

Seriously troll.. What you don't realize is that when they release a developer preview it might have been what they were working on 2 months before. A developer preview is strictly for developers to use to develop their software with all the changes and new API's. So the DP4 they released a week or 2 ago might actually be 1, 2, 3, or even 4 months old coding.

Every post you make is about Windows 7 being superior, which is funny. There was a post about Lion needing 2GB of ram as the requirement and you were saying that is absurd.. have you looked at Windows 7 requirements? 1GB ram for 32bit and 2GB for 64bit. SAME THING! Apple just doesn't release several SKU's of their OS. Instead, they allow ALL users to enjoy ALL features and not pay for them. Plus, Lion is between 75% - 86% cheaper than Windows 7.

Of course, that could very well mean that they're able to release it at the end of July instead of only in the middle of August...

You're ALL wrong. Steve just called me via FaceTime, and told me that Lion would be available at 01:57 hrs on 19/07/2011.

There, now you can all relaxxxxx :p

Well, I dearly hope you're right, cause it's 9:07 on 16/07/2011 and nothing's come yet, ruling out half of the super-backed up guesses from a while ago!

I doubt he knows anymore then you or anyone else here does. He's obviously just guessing.
It's hardly a guess when every past release has been at the end of the month. Sure, the employee doesn't know anything definitive, but all it takes is looking up "Mac OS X" on Wikipedia to see the release trend.

It's still an assumption or guess and by no means fact. All one can do by looking at past history of releases is make a guess. Besides Apple store employees will always tow the company line and won't reveal information on something like this even if they did know the answer.
