How do I achieve this effect at 1:43-1:45? I am using FCP X.

That's just a very creative fade/cut with a little screen shake. That should be relatively easy to do. Practice in your yard.

Get a person to be in the middle of the frame as close as possible and jump.

Go to new location, have them do the same jump.

When you edit, create a freeze frame for a second at the top of the jump before doing a fade (looks as if they did a blue filter over the image to help hide the cut) to the new shot.

Play with it a little, shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks. I'm going to practice and try it
