You can walk. I often do repeats of running/walking intervals that I created for both indoor and outdoor running workouts, and they’re always counted as runs.
Ohh thats good to hear then!!
Ill give it a go and hope for the best.

Would choosing between indoor or outdoor for the run makes any difference to help count for it if going for the faster pace walking only?

Sorry for asking as ive never used the Running part of the Fitness App ever before :/

No, there’s no difference here. The challenge explicitly mentions both indoor and outdoor running options.

What it looks like to me is that as long as you do a running workout and reach the distance goal, you get the badge. It doesn’t matter how long it takes or what pace you manage.

Most of my runs are indoors. No pavements in our village.
This is good to know!
I will give it an attempt today and see how I go.
I might need to do it in seperate bits as 5km is a little too much for me in the one go so I hope that won’t matter either??

It isn’t clear, but you could do an exercise for, say, a quarter of a mile, then check the badge and see if it’s updated.

From how it reads, I believe you have to do it all in one workout... "Record a running workout and go at least 5 km on June 5 to earn this special badge". I only get the 5K Run badge if I reach 3.1 miles in a run, so I would assume it is the same thing.

Yep i think you are spot on there and to not stop/quit the running app.
Yeah you're right. Something you can do, @chriswhv6, is to do part of it in one go, pause the exercise, and then do more, repeating as necessary.
Very good thinking :)
This will def help!

Well very soon i will get the chance to give it a test to see if i can obtain this or not...might take me an hour or so but lets see! :D

Thank you kindly & congrats on your completion also!! :)
I want to thank @iAssimilated, @Mackilroy, @chriswhv6 whose posts inspired me to go for it when I thought it was impossible!
You are more than welcome and enjoy your victory in achieving the Badge.
Well done!

Congratulations to all that were able to participate & grabbed the 5K Run Limited Edition Badge!!🎊

I got my first KOM badge in a Strava running segment, only problem it’s unreliable, I should have run 350m uphill at a faster-than-Bolt speed.
And this time I never paused my watch in order not have unreliable records.

I often have problems when importing activities to Strava when I pause.

One note: anyway the QOM in this segment is faster than me.
