Any word on if the new 2.0 Software for the iPhone will filter junk email? That is probably one of the biggest issues I've had with the current iPhone.

That's generally more of a server-side thing.
"Mail" doesn't filter your junk mail, but oftentimes Exchange servers and Gmail will do the filtering.

I'd say there could be an app written to do so. Isn't it possible to set up filters on your account so you don't get very much junk mail? (assuming Yahoo/Google etc.)

Nope...but since it works off of the servers, you could always login through the web on your computer and set up junk mail filtering.

I forward all my mail to a gmail account,,,I use that with my touch..works great.
