at the moment i dont have wireless , but my iphone picks up a connection from my neighbour and i can connect to it with a full signal, but i still cant connect to safari .

What i was wondering though is , when i connect to my neighbours wifi i go into the settings and i can see the ip , can i use that ip when using WinSCP to connect my phone to my laptop ? or shud i just give up and wait till i get my wireless at the weekend Lol Im just bored right now and just playing with the iphone.

The iPhone cannot be tethered to a laptop to work as a modem or internet gateway.

for the 2nd time today (in a different thread), tethering IS possible if you hack your iphone. there's a huge thread on it here.

i haven't hacked my iphone, nor do i plan to, but there is a lot of functionality that can be added to it with hacking.
