Just a stupid little question (trying iPhone in stores)

The iPhone is on display and can be used inside the US Apple Stores, right?
See I'm from the UK and I'm going to NY in August and I'm so desprate to try the iPhone, I'll probably go to the 5th avenue Store.

Go in the middle of the night to the 5th ave. apple store 😀 No joke, i picked up my iphone at 3am Sunday morning and there were like 10 people there milling about and 2 people in line.

at&t stores also have them on display. smaller crowds.

I prefer Apple Stores to AT&T ones and I really want to visit the 5th avenue one!
