iPod touch Just acquired an iPod touch, error 3194

I just recently got (as in given to me, not bought) a 3rd gen iPod touch, and whenever I plug it in it says that I must restore it, and so I try that and it just gives me the error 3194. I've tried a couple tutorials on YouTube on whatnot on how to fix this, but I really don't know anything about iPods at all so I don't really know what I'm doing. Could anyone possibly give some advice on what I should do?

Apple has a support article listing update and restore errors and possible fixes. 3194 is listed there under the "Additional error codes and resolutions" section.

Sounds like that Touch may have been previously jailbroken.

Have you tried something like this?

No idea if it works or not but it looks like a pretty easy thing to try.

it's not common.
