and it took about 2 minutes! I was kind of shocked. I don't remember my iPhone 3G taking anything less than an hour or so to back up. Ever. I wonder if this is just a product of having a much, much faster phone or what. Anyone else experience a blazing backup?

My 3G never took more than a few minutes. So, I didn't notice anything different.

This was a problem with 2.0 software to start with, too. They eventually fixed it, but ya, it is/was painful.

I just backed up after adding and deleting some Apps on the iPhone side and on my 3GS it took 8 seconds, not counting the transfer of the new apps to my Mac. My 3G easily took about a few minutes to complete that same task.

OK. I'm not sure what to make of that. I've owned the original iPhone since launch day, the 3G since launch day, and now the 3GS. Syncing, beginning with 2.0 I think....always took forever for me. 30 minutes to an hour or so. The last time is backed up my (brand new replacement 3G on my brand new 13" MacBook Pro) in preparation for the 3GS, it took about 1:30. I'm confused....

What??? You must have had a screwed up 3g...mine only takes like 20 secs.
