Just bought 2017 13" MBP with touchbar, should I return and pay +500 for 2018?

Personally, yes. I would return it for the 8th Gen Chip Architecture and the little tweaks here and there.

Why would you need to pay $500 extra? I thought the prices stayed the same except for a few currencies adjustments.

Definitely get the 2018 one. Common sense as it is much more advanced than 2017.

I got a good deal, $500 of normal price...I assume because they got wind of these 2018's being released

Yes indeed! You'll get the benefit of the increased power and it'll have a higher resale value should you decide to make a change.

If I were you, I would. This year's upgrades are quite significant compared to the last two gens, so definitely. Even more true if you plan on using the laptop for longer than 1-2 years.

Absolutely! The 2018s seem like a significant enough of an upgrade to make it worth trading up.
