Have just received a second hand mbp off ebay - all excellent - is in new condition.

Its the model before the current MBP 17" 2.8GHZ.

I have the serial number, is there anyway to find out if i can get applecare on it? Ive emailed the seller asking to transfer the apple care if you have it.

Anyway to find out online if i can get applecare?

ok so if i buy applecare (prob for £100 off ebay) is it a case of just registering it? sounds like theres no need for them to transfer the applecare into my name, or does the seller HAVE To transfer it into my name?

Ive registered the computer when i installed leopard - got an email from apple confirming it.

EDIT: ALl sorted, applecare runs out march 10 so ill be adding 2 years of applecare for £100 off fleabay
