Here is my phone history dating back a few years and the reason why upgrading:

Galaxy S2 - awesome, amazing camera for the time
iPhone 5 - great phone, wake/sleep button failed
iPhone 6 - too big after the iPhone 5
Galaxy A3 - bad camera as in on/off results
iPhone SE - very fast, wake/sleep button failed again :( also I cracked the screen
iPhone X - first impression wow, after 2 months(honeymoon period) sold it, main reason way too HEAVY
Galaxy S8 - simply great, best android phone I have ever had, but too big and curved screen is annoying
iPhone SE (2) - it is just amazing to be back with this, only cost me £250, I just hope the wake/sleep button won't fail again as previously. It is rattling a bit out of the box but most of these phones have the exact same problem so I will just ignore it. The size, WEIGHT and speed of this phone is just perfect for me.

Yes. If you are fortunate enough to have an iPad, a big phone isn’t needed. SE is great, hope they don’t cancel it. If the bezels were made smaller, the same size screen as on the 6 could fit within the case of the SE.

Please do this, Apple.

Unfortunately it looks like the SE will be discontinued this Fall/Autumn, and also no SE2 either. :(

Apple made a big deal about opening a manufacturing facility in India, specifically for the SE, which as their low cost phone, is quite popular. I don’t see them shutting down the factory this soon. So I’m confident another SE will be forthcoming. Yes, they could discontinue the SE per se, but something similar will replace it.

I hope you are right

Good for you man. I have an al Qaeda post identical journey to yours but I am on the s9+ right now. Have a 8 plus from work. Can't decide between the two phones. I couldn't use the smaller se iphone5 form factor nowadays...

I believe Apple will remove the 6s from the lineup and retain the SE with a slight discount. I think 2019 the SE will be discontinued, perhaps in place of a newer/updated ‘Version’ of the SE, which may be entirely different from what it is currently. All theory of course.

yeah, I could see this happening. this is a very realistic scenario

Plus, a 2019 SE would allow the 2018 iPhones to be on the market and make their initial volume sales (a la 6s in 2015, SE release in early 2016 replacing the 5s...though this time the iPhone 6 won't be oddly sandwiched in the line up lol...unless the "SE2" has a newer chip than the A10, which I presume will be in the lower end iPhone 7)

Hopefully, I still think there is a market for SE size phones. I wouldn't mind if they even kept the design and bezels the same, but improve the cameras and I'm happy

We use a Mac mini, iPad minis, SEs, Apple TV. Small is good.
[doublepost=1531684706][/doublepost]And Pick your own screens, because they age faster than the CPUs.

Hope you're not correct, but I suspect you are. I have an ipad I use a lot. My phone use is very limited. I prefer a smaler form factor and still have a 5s. Have kind of been waiting for an upgraded se. My guess is they look at people like me and see a person to whom they can sell a relatively inexpensive phone like the SE with a small profit margin, or limit my options so I eventually have to buy a more expensive option. I also have a late 2012 Mac mini. It's served me well. The 2014 version was really not a meaningful upgrade and that too looks like a dead computer walking.

Every time I’ve bought a computer — since 1979 — a good one costs $1,200 - $1,500 or more. It’s like a Law or something.
