Just bought a macbook air 2020 M1. Worst time to buy ?

I am pretty sure the next air isnt coming until the end of the year.
Price increase is unlikely. As to wether we will see an updated model, it is unknown. Rumors say to expect an 18 month M# cycle, which is about now. But general rumors generally point the MBA to being updated sometime mid- og late-2022.
But the M1 MBA is a fantastic machine, enjoy it. Especially if you are only using it for 'general' things.
Edit: Looks like at least one portable is being announced at the March 8 event. Question is if that is an iPad Air.

I'm waiting to see what they release in March. But if you've already bought it and it meets your requirements, why bother returning it? Whatever they announce next month, your current MBA isn't suddenly going to stop doing what you currently use it for.

MBA is 15 months old and ripe for replacement imminently. But obviously I don't know any more than anyone else here
When Apple launched the M1 they launched it at completely the opposite end of their product line than I expected. But they did so because they knew its power and capabilities didn't compete with the power-hungry muscly Intel processors in their higher-end machines, like the Mac Pro. We'll have to wait and see if they adopt the same strategy with the M2.
Completely subjective. In my opinion since the redesign of the new air is supposed to be a big difference and a new chip I would wait. If you don't care about bezels and fastest or latest processor and don't care about new colors and design then keep the air you have otherwise I would return it and wait.
I was in the same boat with the MBP 14" and I ended up waiting and was very glad I did. It cost more but I think it is totally worth it.

FYI, the new MB Air might have drastically different case colors, a white bezel around the screen, and perhaps a white keyboard, in case the form factor is important to you. From images I've seen, they'll still have a silver model, but gold and space gray may be discontinued.
