A previous gen macbook pro...

2.5 ghz
2 gigs of ram
8600GT w/512mb
etc..

I got it for 1600 with an education discount.


I'm so excited!!

Could you check and see when your MBP was manufactured? Use this link: http://www.appleserialnumberinfo.com/Desktop/index.php and just put in your serial number and hit get info. Thanks.

Congrats on your splendid new MBP and may both you and your splendid new MBP live long and prosper together. You'll enjoy the whole experience, and the MBP is an excellent computer.

I agree with mets1125 and would concur with the suggestion that you get Applecare also. I did, for insurance, peace of mind, and the security of knowing that should anything (liker nVidia) go pear-shaped, I'm covered. As things stand, you currently have Apple's one year warranty. You will be able to purchase Applecare at any time until the end of that year, but not one second after that.

Yes, it's US dollars.


And I am considering buying applecare, but I'll probably get that sometime later since I have a year of the standard warranty.

Look under "refurbished macs" at the online store. They have the previous gen macbook pros listed for 1799. I used the education discount and got it for 1599 🙂
