Who knows if the 17" will see life again? I, personally, thought it was pretty extreme of Apple to take it off its website (like a horrible breakup, or something?) - even years ago when the 15" wasn't updated to the unibody, they still left the old model for sale

Anyhoo - I had a 2010 17" (2.6 ghz dual core) and I found the refurbished models from a link that someone posted here - I just bought this one -

I figure a 2.5 ghz Quad Core will last for quite a while - from there, I'm going to take this beast over to MCE in Brea, CA, and soup it up even further - I'm planning on putting in a 512 gig SSD, along with taking the SuperDrive out and putting in another 512 SSD, along with 16 gigs of RAM - it'll be a killer beast -

LONG LIVE 17!!!!

Yeah I love the large 17" screen size. I suppose since Apple is a business, their main objective is to make money, and maybe the 17" Macbook Pro wasn't selling enough to justify keeping it in their product line.

I still have a feeling that they'll release an OLED 17" someday, but until then, it's not worth the risk of possibly waiting (lol)

I'm excited to continue this love affair with LapZilla!
