Just Bought External HD

I just bought the LaCie USB 2.0 80GB HDD from Amazon for 90 smackers. Is it a good drive? Is it a good deal(I think it is b/c I only had 100 to spend)?

You should tell us. How is it going? I would like to know for one. Most people on this board recommend the Lacie drives so u should be happy.

How much was the firewire version? I know USB 2.0 is close in speeds, but firewire is the way to go when dealing with files back and forth consistently.

I just bought a FW 80 GB Lacie Porsche from mac mall for 105.00 they also offered me 120 rebates on everything... typical.

I have a 300GB Maxtor FW/USB external at home, which has been fine so far - a little noisy when spinning up and shutting down, but the bundled backup software is great, and it is fast enough for my uses.

I just ordered a 500GB Lacie triple interface for the iMac at work...let you know how it goes. 🙂
