Ok, so its just a meager iMac G3 500mhz DV SE model, and it only cost my $100. Its the all white one which I think is the best looking one of the bunch. This goes with the mini I bought in June and macbook in July. My in-laws bought my oldest son (13) a Toshiba laptop for right before christmas  If not for that all the windows pcs would be extinct in the house.

Got this for my young kids for an internet station. My 3yr old daughter will barely let my wife on her macbook because my daughter is alway on noggin or nickjr or something :) Plus a few times the kids have been on my computer (mini) theyve done things like dragged icons off the dock, opened mysterious windows and options screens Ive never seen, and once moved my whole home folder to the trash can which freaked me out.

For a 500mhz machine with only 256mb ram its pretty zippy moving around the OS. I havent started up a bunch of apps to see what happens but for what it was bought for it should be perfect. I want to get a cpl of 256mb sticks of ram to up that to 512 which should be much better.

The first boot up brought up 9.2. Wow, did that thing look pre-historic :) It also came with 10.2.4 I think it is installed, is that Panther? Looks pretty much like Tiger to me.

I would LOVE to get myself a macbook refurb when I get my tax check, but its not that I NEED it, I just WANT it. 3 macs in 6 months and I used to be that guy that said "whats so great about a mac? I build my own pcs that are much better" :D

Where do you find the older models to buy? ebay? I really don't like ebay too much.

Yep, ebay. Nothing not to like if you are very particular about who you buy from. I would never, ever buy anything over $200 from ebay regardless of their feedback history. But for under $200, if they have excellent feedback, and by excellent I mean 100% or maybe 1 or 2 negatives but hundreds and hundreds of positives, I dont worry about it.

I have bought stuff for over that amount lots of times. The best thing to do is do what ebay suggests and not use money orders but rather use paypal only as you can get your money back if it goes wrong.
