Just bought new macbook pro

I recently download openoffice. It seems to run very slow and causes other apps to run slow as well. If i buy MS Office will I have the same effect?

It sounds like OpenOffice is eating up your resources. Give NeoOffice a try. If the free programs don't preform well enough for you then you can try iWorks instead of Microsoft Office.
