Okay, I caught the bug.
Purchased:
2 x Monitor 70's ($300)
2 x Monitor 30's ($80)
1 x CS2 (Center) ($100)
Just need a solid subwoofer. I'm guessing my old Sony SA-W2500 10" will be pretty much useless with the Monitor 70's? What would you suggest on a budget? The 10" 50 watt Polk PSW10 is $99 while the 12" 300 watt PSW505 is $169. That seems like a lot more oomph for $70 more? Will I sacrifice sound quality to go with that much more power in such an inexpensive box? Are they worth the upgrade over the sony?
Last question - would I have any reason to think the Yamaha RX-V596, which puts out 100W to 5 channels, wouldn't be sufficient to power the above?
