I mean, you place it on the stand permanently next to your desktop computer. Treat it as 2nd monitor. Do you always turn on the power and wired charging to your iPad permanently despite already 100 percent?

As opposed to what… running it on battery, sometimes?

I “occasionally” use an iPad as a display but if it were full-time, I wouldn’t hesitate to keeping it plugged in at all times (with 80% charge limit enabled).

iPad Air don't have 80 per charge limit. Nevertheless my fault should google and ask. So google mention , according from Apple is OK to plug it and charging all the time. Partly once reach 100 percent it will stop charging.

Its not a full time thing for me, it's if I travel to a remote site, I use it like that if I need more screen space.

If it’s older than M2, it won’t have 80%. But even so - it’ll charge to 100%, then run on battery down to 95%, then start charging again. Still OK to me, compared to having to manually manage it.
