I think people here are trying to help him. Put yourself in his shoes, Im sure you would look for the cheapest way to fix your phone as well. Not everyone is made out of money. Whats the difference between him signing up for insurance right now and making a claim in a month about his cracked screen as apposed to he cracks his screen in 1 month and calls about it the next day?

Yes, I would look for the cheapest (legal and ethical) way to fix my phone. That does not include defrauding an insurance company.

The difference is one is legal and one is not.

And Apple provides awesome customer service in that they offer a replacement phone for $199. That's $400 off the retail price.

Haha wow people. As if this doesn't happen a thousand times a day. To each his own, Im sure nothing any of us can say to this guy will stop him from making that decision. I'm just laughing at how strongly you guys feel about this topic. It was merely a suggestion. I understand that it is illegal but Im sure you guys have never done anything you weren't supposed to for personal gain. I have the insurance already so I prepared ahead for any incidents but if I didnt, I would just look for a replacement back and swap it out myself.

Save face? like I care what people think. Its forums people lol

Then we'll all remember to skip over your posts. If you don't care what people think, your posts are meaningless. And you're just wasting your time here.

Ooo Mac people *chuckles*

Skip over me is fine, I would rather not deal with your close minded riposte =)

I could be wrong but when I signed up for my squaretrade account, I read that I would have to wait 30 days from purchase before I could submit a claim for my phone. You might want to look into that before you buy it.

Nothing's the matter with my kid. Some people's kids, however...like the idiot kids someone just found having sex in the building elevator. No no, what's funny is that they were totally surprised when the door opened as if they fully expected no one to use the elevator as long as they were in it. If I didn't think they were too stupid to use a computer for anything other than porn I'd bet those two kids left 3/4 of the messages on this site. :D
