Since I don't really need or use my Titanium PowerBook G4 (800MHz DVI model) now, I thought it would be interesting to use the Software Restore discs on it. The slot-loading Combo drive usually has serious problems reading any media these days, but it did somehow manage to boot from the restore disc, so I'm doing it. For those of you who don't remember, the PowerBook G4 code name "Ivory" shipped in April 2002 and came with Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.1.4. I had 10.4.8 on it, but I'm doing this for nostalgia's sake. This will be the first time I've used Software Restore discs (as opposed to retail copies of Mac OS), I think. Also, I never used OS 9 on this machine aside from Classic within OS X. I haven't used a pre-OS X version in a long time. I'll post some pics later.
