Worked for me and for a couple of other macrumors users.

I actually got the Cape Cod SS wipes and they worked perfectly. Watch shined up back to perfection.

Walked into a Pawn Shop and spotted the SS AW 42mm with box and all accessories. Guy told me 450 and it's mine so of course I offered $400.00 because it had some scratches on the SS. He accepted.

Got home and checked the serial number and the watch has the Apple Care +!!! Best deal ever.

Upgraded from 42mm SGS.

10. Transfer

Unless you have the documentation and the original owner notifies apple, the AppleCare + is not valid.

I'm a notorious pawn shop crawler. I've been looking for an Apple Watch at every one that I stop at. So far I've seen one. It was a gold plated stainless. The pawnshop wanted $1500. The pawnbroker looked totally crushed when I told him that he had an aftermarket gold job put on a $750 watch.

That's hilarious. A $10-17K watch for only 1.5K? I guess they're not the brightest bulbs.

False. #10 only refers to whose name is officially listed on the policy. AC+ is still tied to the device and valid regardless of who brings it in.

So are you saying the original person owns the policy, and the policy is valid for the device, and the next owner can get a replacement device?

Cause under 7.

i) You will provide your Plan Agreement Number and a copy of your Plan’s original proof of purchase, if requested.

So if you buy a device with AC+ u need to get copies of the plan?

Except they don't ask for them in practice. They simply look up in their system to see if it has AC+ and service it regardless if you're the original owner or the subsequent owner.

The only danger in not transferring the plan in name under 10. is the original owner can always cancel the plan and request a pro-rated refund, screwing the next owner if it was bought secondhand knowing it has AC+.

Cool, that is good to know.

Not too Impressed with the ability to cancel AC+ , really does screw over the new owners, and ownership of devices beyond the 12 months is a gamble , in terms of AC may or may not be there on a daily basis.

For peace of mind, you really want to do a transfer, which is a hassle, compared to just buying a device with AC second hand.

This thread must have brought me some good karma today. Had some time to kill in Conyers today, so I hit a few pawn shops. Sure enough, one had a 38mm Sport. Perfect timing, my DD12 has a birthday on the 23rd. $200 including sales tax.
