Went to apple.com to check out some specs at EST 11:57pm, 9/12/13 and found this...

Does that mean a silent update? Or are they just working on the iPhone order page or something?

Just wait for the "Apple Store is down" threads and see them filling with the same nonsense as they do all the time.

Sadly, no. It was a rather thin wool blanket. It took some concentrating to ignore the rest of the world though. Mostly I just read Wasteland threads and wept for humanity to keep my mind away from real life.

Hard drive issues? I've heard lots of the mid 2009 models have SATA cable issues...

Ohh yes. I know all about that! Three hard drives and at least 5 cables. Soon to be 6 if I can get it in this weekend and not be charged an arm and a leg for it.

You should be glad. Every day there's no silent update means Apple thinks there's something to brag about at an event. What that may be though is anybody's guess.
