Best Buy isn't an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Taking a Mac to an AASP is the same as taking your Dell to a service center. Your not going to get the manufacturer support that you would at the Genius Bar.

No, instead you get better support. I can't stand the people at the genius bar. Every time I go there I get attitude, at multiple stores and in multiple states. It's like this pervasive air of arrogance surrounds the place.

Based on thickness, this Dell and any Dell is not a true competitor to the sub 1" MacBook Pro models.

MBPs need to be compared with 1" thin laptops of the same screen size from Sony and company. When you make the comparison, Apple usually ends up being much, much cheaper.

Maybe it comes with the "genius" title which myself I find pretty retarded because:

1. It makes the clueless customer feel inferior and often results in not getting what he deserves.

2. Those that carry it are not that bright unfortunatelly

You all are forgetting. The average consumer doesn't know the difference between DDR2 and DDR3 (and in real use, it's not that faster anyway). Of course every condition has to be perfect but remember, the average consumer doesn't get all the technological mumbo jumbo. They just want their 17" screen.
