sorry to hear that. get over to the unemployment office. good benefits going on right now. a friend of mine gets a little over $600 a week for 6 months. its not the most but it keeps him a float while looking for a new job.

I guy I work with (who has two jobs) just got severely cut back and transferred :30 minutes away. Not exactly a job loss, but still major for him.

Sorry to hear that. :(

When your time in a company ends, something new begins. Try to be positive and focus on the positive side of it. You can get a better job, or start doing other line of work that will make you happier than what you were. Have fun.

^^ Yes, another, better door will open soon. But I'm so sorry you are going through this. Job hunting is the worst thing ever! Good luck to you.

I'm sorry to hear that man... Don't let it get you down though, think of it as an opportunity to try something new.

On the plus side, you have a pretty sweet Macbook Pro as it stands at the moment, and I personally highly doubt that Apple will be announcing any new Macbooks this year (i know others would disagree though). But hopefully even if they do come out with something, it won't be too crazily lustworthy, and you'll be able to blow your money on the new hotness next year.

Wow that's way more than I make and I work 40+ hours a week! Gotta find out his secret :D

Lay offs are happening big time lately, doesn't seem to be getting better either. Good luck on finding work, these are crazy times!

Keep your head up and persevere. You will find something. My family is going through the same thing as my wife lost her job two weeks ago. Just got to keep on keeping on.

I feel your pain. I got laid off in January, and I'm still looking. Best to get your unemployment claim filed, and then hunker down as best you can. Find ways to trim expenses, pay down any debt you can, and just hang on tight.

Good luck finding a new job.

Sorry to hear that...

I've been out since March 13th... That was Friday the 13th.

They originally targeted Feb 13th (also Friday the 13th), but couldn't meet their deadlines.

Kind of a cruel sick joke, but I thought it was pretty funny.

We had this on the door until the very end. Hey at least we have a sense of humor...

Not to intrude into your private affairs, but, can you share with us what type of job you were laid off from? The job markets are brutal in most of the developed countries.

Hospitality, sales are definitely down.

How close to D.C. are you? It sure seems like Montgomery County is living like there's no recession. My wife's car died last week and we needed a replacement fast. We had to wait before there was a sales guy free to wait on us. Then we went to a nearby mall for dinner. Place was jammed.
