I currently have the monitor plugged in and acting like a second monitor. I can drag from my laptop to the big screen. I'm a little confused how spaces work now. I utilize spaces on my laptop and I can see that when I change spaces on laptop, that the monitor changes to various blank spaces as well. I guess Spaces act the same, but I now just have 2 displays per space?

Ideally I think I would like to only use the 27" monitor as a display, and not the laptop as well. Maybe I could close the laptop while it's plugged in and stick it out of the way? Is this possible?

Anyone else have any tips on setting up a large display with a laptop? Thanks!

Tanks neilmacd, I set the large monitor as the main monitor and closed the macbook and it functions just how I want it. Unfrtunately I don't have a keyboard yet, so I'm using the laptop half closed as a keyboard, haha.
