Coming from a 2016 Pro that I've had since new, camera died again and keys were sticking again and the M1 Airs are now such good value.

Battery is incredible, I like the wedge design, I think it makes it more ergonomic to use.

Screen isn't as bright and speakers are a bit muffled compared to my 7 year old Pro which is a little disappointing I must say. But camera works, and keyboard won't stick so all good.

Any way just thought I'd post, not much to discuss I guess.

You go!

Anymore with my M1, I appreciate being able to connect my Airpods or Beats to the computer for sound when I have something playing when using it.

Congrats on your new M1. I picked up my base M1 Air yesterday due to the deep discounts on offer. It's my first MacBook ever as all my previous laptops have been PCs and I am really enjoying the machine so far. I am just happy to have all my devices in the same ecosystem and a laptop with a ridiculously long battery life.

Andeddu, now that is one scary photo!

RED ALERT! RED ALERT!

Warning. Liquid damage ahead.

Hot chocolate (or is that a cappuccino?) and MBA each look great — just not together and so close!

That's tempting fate and inviting disaster. I know from experience — which is why the photo sent chills down my spine.

Enjoy the new MBA! Just don't drink and drive…

Haha, it was purely a photo op. You’ll be glad to hear I am responsible and careful with my electronics. I normally place my lattes on a small footstool by my side rather than on the table because of all the liquid damage posts I keep seeing. I’ve been using laptops since my first one in 2006 and all are alive and in working order in 2023.

I agree with you that I should not tempt fate, better safe than sorry especially as I do not have AppleCare+.

Couldn't hurt to pick up an inexpensive keyboard skin, though.

While Airs use some venting thru the keyboard for cooling, I've never had an issue while using a skin. And the protective value (from hot chocolate, cookie crumbs or just plain dust and skin oils) to my mind outweighs that concern.

Fantastic idea. I’ll order one now along with a carry case.
