The app worked about 2min before the website, but I had to use the website through Shop Discover in order to get my 12% Discover Cashback (5% online retailer, 5% store, 2% Oct 26 promo).

32GB black WiFi iPad mini. And I went for the red cover after all. Done! Glad I didn't have that coffee I thought I would need to stay awake if I couldn't get the order in right away.. 'Night, all, happy dreams!
Same experience here using the Apple Store app. I was in a couple minutes before the website.

Same here. Two black 64GB AT&T with red covers and AppleCare+. Ordered from my iPhone using the store app. Painless, quick, immediately got my order being processed email. I'm typing this post using my iPhone while in bed. Can already imagine how much better using the mini will be, and hoe much heavier the iPad 3 is that I decided yo leave it on the nightstand.

right shy $2000. ugh.. And thats after buying my wife a 13" Retina last week since she wanted to upgrade her old 2009 13" after drooling over my 15" retina I got in June. And two iPhone 5 64's last month.. and a new Nano and 64GB iPod Touch 5th gen... oh and the iPad 3 64GB VZW earlier in the year too. holy hell.. thats $10,000+ on Apple products in 2012 alone. If I listed my purchase history, over the last decade, the investors would smile.

This, like the iPhone 5 preorder, was flawless. Ordered a white 32 GB iPad 4 to replace my aging iPad 1. Used the website. No problems at all.
I decided to hold off on the accessories in case they would have delayed shipment of the iPad itself, and will probably pick up a Smart Case in an Apple store.
Although laser engraving is free, I always avoid that because it can affect resale value.

I also paid with my Discover card, but I didn't sign into my account before buying. Do you know if the 5% Apple Store cashback bonus applies automatically to my 32 GB Black 4th Gen iPad that I preordered tonight?
You have to click the link through Discover. However, if you're signed up for the online purchases 5% cashback, that I think will apply automatically.
As for the 12%.. I sincerely doubt that those offers stack. I was already signed up for the 5% on online purchases and went through my apple.com link from Discover, but I wasn't signed up for the 2%.. I'm debating re-ordering, but ship times have been pushed back and honestly I 'm skeptical that any of these cashback things stack. so.. for now I'm going to not worry about it and then ask discover tomorrow or something.
ETA: Slickdeals.net thread says that the codes stack. I'm *still* skeptical, and not too worried about 2%. However, in your case if you weren't previously signed up for the 5% and didn't go through the link, the cashback is much more significant and I'd think about reordering if you didn't get the benefit.
Me too. Another over $800 purchase for the black 64gb with AT&T cellular on the way. Will be passing my old iPad 2 to a friend keeping the the 3 and 4.

i was/am skeptical too.... i was told by discover that the vendors actually pay the 5%.... i assume that discover pays the everyday 1% and even the bonuses when they run 2%? so maybe???? i did notice it does take apple at least one statement cycle to get the 5% on there.... if i get the additional 2% that will be gravy.... i was most interested in the 5% since i was ordering 2 cellular minis and 2 applecare +
i wish apple would become one of the bonus offers with $25 itunes card that we use $20 of our cashback money.... i like those offers cuz i get more for my money!

Thanks for the tip. I went ahead and cancelled my order from Apple, logged on to Discover, and made sure I had my 5% cashback activated for online shopping. I even went ahead and activated the 2% cashback for Fri Oct 26 purchases, as well as clicking the link for 5% off all Apple Store purchases. With that, I reordered my 32 GB Black iPad 4th Gen and decided to throw in a dark gray smartcover.
My delivery date is still Nov 2. If you are unsure, I'd cancel and reorder! (Unless you bought a silver/white iPad Mini, the preorders are already sold out)
Yep I want a white one. I think I'll be okay. I activated 2% after my purchase but the 10% was active. Also I'm wondering how the 2% works.. is it the date you order or the date the CC is charged? Because I don't think apple will charge us 10/26.
I'm not sure either. I'm sure that because the order was placed today, Discover will acknowledge the purchase on Oct 26 and credit us 2% cashback.
Is there some verification to say the 5% cashback on Apple Store purchases through ShopDiscover? I just clicked the orange link on the page, and didn't get an email about it or anything.
