If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get this Air for on eBay? The backlight is definitely strange but doesn't sound like the seller's fault. Probably just a technical fault and Apple should take care of it for you. Is it in good physical condition?
It seems in good physical condition. The bottom of the bezel seems a bit uneven, but not really a dent. I got it for 1400 including the external DVD drive. I got about 10% off that with rebates. Might take it to the Apple store tom.
So far I'm impressed with OSX. Downloaded a few free programs like NeoOffice and Adium, and BetterTouchTool! Unfortunately the display is less than what I expected, and the thing runs hot. I also wish the edges weren't so sharp, and the screen could tilt back 180 degrees.
