You don't say...

It's not an odds game though with a case for some people. Some people buy a case because they want ALL of the phone protected. I am one of those. I simply don't see the point of buying an open bottom case.

My wife was disappointed too... she puts her phone in her purse where it is more prone to getting rubbed by something than anywhere else. Undoubtedly something will find the raw metal at some point in there.

I don't think anyone is buying a case with the thought they are going to drop the phone. But, once again, this goes back to the aspect of full protection. If I am going to buy a case for my phone, I may as well get completely protection. otherwise I am happy just going case free.

If the case works for you, splendid! No reason to attempt to invalidate another person's opinion on why said case doesn't work for them.

Why is my statement "invalidating" but the other person's was not? I was simply replying to a question. In the end, it's a phone. And if you can never see the surface because it's covered in case, then what does it matter if it gets scratched? you're never looking at the surface anyway.

as for the large headphones thing - I'm not so sure "beats by dre" have the same size plug as my $500 Shures but we'll see. I hope so, because I ordered that case.

You told the guy not to drop it... as if people buy cases with the exact intention of dropping their phones and watching them bounce around.

I resell my phones. And they are always damn nearmint. And I get top dollar for them. That matters to me. If you don't do that, sure, I can see why scratches are of no consequence. But then why consider a case anyway (unless for looks?).

I had some sures (they are buds) and they worked fine with the 5S case.

Im sure you'll love it for life.

I mainly have a case for better grip and size. The phones are a bit too slim for my huge hands, and usually slick.

OP, is your case black or dark brown? I just received mine and it is certainly not black. It's leather and dye batches are going to vary but this is pretty light (still closer to black than olive brown). I'll probably check the local apple store once stock stabilizes to see how it compares.

which is great for those of us with expensive headphones that don't have tiny plugs.

You realise that an Iphone cannot drive headphones that are likely to have big plugs without an amp.

Or are you referring to something like beats made for mobile devices as expansive headphones ?

Except the new design for the 6/Plus has the bottom exposed.

Yeah just noticed that. The 5S one was perfect in the protection it offered .

With the new case your likely to get scuffs on the bottom on the phone now. Damit it, will have to find an alternative.

Sony V6s, pro-class phones, big plug, <$100. V-Moda M100s, good headphones, $300 or so, not-tiny-plug. Those are the two sitting near me, I have others scattered around. I've even had IEMs (Shures) with plugs that are bigger than the EarPods, which is what all those little holes get designed for.

Any >$100 headphone not specifically designed for mobile compatibility will probably have a plug that'll challenge the tiny apertures cases sometimes leave. The plug doesn't have to be huge. If the barrel casing is flat around the metal bit, rather than tapered/tiered, it'll probably have an issue.

I have the Shure 535's. However they're broken right now so I'm using some cheap Senn's
