Many I've been trying to figure out what to do with that thing for the past day. So far it's being used as a duster.

You can use it for that, or to go on top of the keyboard when you close the MPB, to prevent skin oil from getting on the screen.

TEG

I remember seeing that the MBA was supposed to come with a polishing cloth for the screen. Did you get a glossy screen, by chance?

For cleaning your MBP and covering the keyboard.

Can I just ask a question, though?

Why was this such a HUGE issue?

Just curious.

Nah it's not gloss. Just matte.

HAHA I was being sarcastic about this being a HUGE deal...

I was hoping so, but you never know sometimes.
It's like those threads: "Can I have my MBP exchanged for a Penryn model if I think there are evil spirits in mine? I got it in July, but I really think is has the spirits of the dead in the Santa Rosa chip. So...can I get an upgrade?"

I just want to smack those people, you know.

It's actually pretty good for cleaning the screen. Just that and a wee little bit 'o water. I think it's microfiber.

I wish they would have sent them on older laptops where keys and space bar would etch themselves into screen when closed.

Hanky? Where is this hanky you speak of?

There was a thi sheet of white foam in between the keyboard and screen when I first opened my MBP, but I didn't see any black hanky anywhere!

(I didn't go through the entire box, actually - aside from taking out the MBP and power cord I didn't touch anything else in the box! - did I miss something in there?)

My Air came w. one. It was folded up I think w. doc's. Is Apple now replacing all laptop remotes w. free Apple hankys? (Actually microfiber)

Directly from Apple.com

What’s in the box

MacBook Pro
Display cleaning cloth
85W MagSafe Ppower Adapter, AC wall plug, and power cord
Lithium-polymer battery
DVI to VGA adapter
Install/restore DVDs
Printed and electronic documentation

Every MBA, MB, MBP, and ACD's come with either a grey or black cloth... and MP's do not

that means it's to clean the screen duh!

lol:p

You lay the hanky in your lap before you place your MBP upon it. It's a useful option for men who want to someday have kids.

Lmao, they probably save a few pennies doing that (i'm sure both those items cost them nothing).

It's definitely for the screen. The iPod touch comes with one, too. Personally I think the remote is a great throw in, though. I work at a big box computer store and a lot of people seem to be the most wowed by the remote that it comes with and how it activates front row and such (as strange as it may be...). So I don't think it was wise of them to take it out.

The new penryn mbp comes with that cloth?? Previous mbp's didnt, i did buy the mba but returned it and kept that cloth, lol.
