Hey guys,

Finally arrived! Can't wait to really benchmark this dGPU properly but I have a problem that OS X doesn't seem to want to install windows, I'm using an external disc drive with a USB stick formatted to FAT. Yet it won't download and install the necessary files.
'Windows support software could not be saved to the selected drive'

I have Insurgency but the rest will be on Bootcamp.
So far the only difference is the trackpad which I actually really like, has a nice feel to it.

Got my maxed out 15" Macbook today.
Installing Win 8.1 via Bootcamp worked however the Bootcamp Drivers are not yet released :roll eyes:
Hope they release them this week.

Did you just download them from Apple's website? That's what I'm doing and then just dumping them on a stick and hoping for the best.

Does anyone know if AMD have drivers available yet?

I'm getting sick of this, if Bootcamp won't install then Apple can take it back.
Tried downloading via Bootcamp software - nope, not working.
Tried downloading from Apple's website then starting the bootcamp software installation process - nope says support software not detected.

Seriously how has anyone been able to install Windows!?

amd still didn't published the drivers for r9 3xx series, even with its newest beta (15.4), it doesn't have support for this card.

The drivers are too old. The installation aborts with an empty error window.
It is normal that apple releases the new bootcamp drivers a week or two later.

Can hardly wait to put GTA V and Witcher 3 on the machine.
So far the m370x is pretty impressive when I tested it with Unity 5 and Final Cut Pro X.

Also interesting concerning the gpu:

If I was a new Macbook Pro I wouldn't want Windows installed on me that's for sure. :D:D:p

Bootcamp is one of the nicest things about Macbook Pros.
I use the Macbook for work however I am also a gamer. :D

You should pm MacDevMike, he posted some benchmarks from a Bootcamp installation few days ago.

I have done, decided after talking to Apple support and their failed suggestion that I needed a 16GB USB2 stick (which I went and got) that I'm just going to return it. It's been a nice ride with Apple, but in almost two years to see virtually zero progress then have this mediocre refresh I'll look into other options, Razor Blade would be great if they sold them here with UK Keyboards.

I managed to get mine working this way - restore the Windows 8.1 ISO into an 8GB USB stick (format as FAT32 with MBR) - don't select the option to download the drivers in BCA, and store the Boot Camp drivers in a second USB stick - download the 5640 drivers manually. That did the trick.

@SCOLANATOR: Hi, I'm developing a better trackpad driver for this model (see my topic https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1497761/)

I'm trying to support this new model asap. But to succeed I have to take a look on the driver Apple provided for this specific model. If possible, could you archive the folder named $WinPEDriver$ which can be found in the root folder of the USB stick you used for installation of Windows. If you could somehow send to me, maybe via Dropbox... Thank you very much.

Ok I'll have that a try, thanks!
