Just picked up the Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone 4 from Best Buy and tomorrow I will be going to do some underwater photography. I can't wait. :)

I hope you're joking! The Defender is pretty far from waterproof! I actually stopped using mine because of a pretty bad "creak" towards the top and some stubborn/loose silicone!

This is why Otterbox customer service is top notch. A simple email or phone call to them and they will replace it.

wow whoever says the otterbox "DEFENDER" can't go underwater is a goof... Seriously, don't mislead people with wrong info when you obviously dont even OWN an otterbox defender...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

Was probably a bogus post to get attention.

Really wish I would have read the replies before I went into the water. My iPhone has been destroyed, it didn't last long because it died as soon as it entered the water.

I really thought the defender was waterproof but I guess not. I am eligible for an upgrade so all is not lost or maybe i'd be better off waiting for the iPhone 5 to be released.

I don't know what to do i'm still very mad and upset. :(

Who told you it was waterproof? It clearly says on their website its not.

You should've. I posted literally 2 minutes after you started the thread telling you not to.

dude... the speaker and mic holes are completely open.. let alone the part of the phone you put to your ear is covered by a piece of paper basically... what honestly made you think you could stick the case in water? even if i bought a "waterproof" case I would stick it in water to make sure theres no problems with it first... Either a trollin post or just plain... well you know im not gona make you feel any worse than you prolly do if you really did stick your phone in water. plus it really died right away? I mean ive seen videos of people putting their phones under the tap bare and they are still turned on for a while even tho they stop working.
