oh man is this thing seeeeeeeexy! I love this computer! its a big jump from using my 800 mhz G4 to a 1.67 Ghz G4 with 1 GB ram and a faster HD....I love this machine! best purchase ever!!!! I will be the envy of everyone with a laptop in class tomorrow 🙂

when it was being shipped, did it get stuck in indianapolis for a regulatory agency clearance delay? that's where mine is. hope it comes tomorrow like fedex says...
mine is stuck in Indianapolis too, but the estimated arrival date hasn't changed, it still says I'll have it Wednesday but I'm not sure... I don't even know what a regulatory clearance delay is.

is this powerbook supposed to get this hot? damn feels like its going to burn a hole in the earth!
Lots of people say their 'books get pretty hot. Mine doesn't seem to get very warm at all, no matter what I'm doing. The worst it's gotten for me has been warmer than I'd prefer it to be, but never enough to be classified as hot, IMO.Raidersmojo said:
This was a huge purchase for me - I've never bought a laptop and don't drop two grand easily (after upgrades)! So, I'm worried about a very hot machine, also. I've read some are super duper hot while others' aren't, and that you either get lucky in that dept. or don't. I don't want to get a hot machine after waiting this long, spending this much, putting so much research into it, etc. I think if mine seemed unusually hot, I might be tempted to try sending it back for another!

I ordered the 15" 1.67. I'll buy my own RAM to add, so it will have 1.5 when that's done, then I had them upgrade from 800 to 100 plus 7200rpm. Can't wait (seriously...I should be sleeping right now...but instead i"m still on here obsessing). I'm even obsessing about what accessories to get! I've already bought a bag, lock, MS Office for Mac software, and I'm about to buy the RAM and one of those lap pad thingies that will cool it off and also offer more support when it's in my lap. Might also buy a mouse. Any thoughts on which to buy? I read something about the Mightymouse but I don't know...

The tracking on my powerbook is just really round about... It started in China, then to Alaska, then to Indiana, then to Tennessee... hopefully next it will come back across the country to Cali. Good grief hehe just thought I would share. I'm so impatient because I'm excited about my first Mac!
