233 MHz to 1.83 GHz. *shudder* It's wicked fast to me! I also like how it boots in 14 seconds!

I just got one myself as well (Mac Mini, 1.8Ghz, 1GB RAM)! I am completely stoked and I have not even opened it yet 😀 .
A little confession I have to make is that I used to resent Macs in the past, on general principle, never gave them much thought, and I stuck to just Windows + Linux...
However, since the switch from OS 9 to OS X and from PPC to Intel, I am now hard at work on phasing out all the Windows boxen in favor of Mac.
I still keep a Windoze box around, it's almost like a necessary evil for certain apps that are just Windows only, period, and I've always liked Linux as a server OS, but the Mac is the ultimate in desktop/laptops currently....
If anyone else is looking to get away from Windows on the desktop, I suggest you give a long, hard look to the Mac as a platform before you try anything else.

Just got my first Mac today, an iMac, the $1199 version. So far so good. I've been reading these forums ever since the excitement over the Mac mini when it first came out.
i also purchased my first mac today, the 20" core 2 duo imac. they were finally offering the refurbished ones again today so i put my order in! it's supposed to be here between january 5-11... but i'm hoping it'll show up sooner. i bought my girlfriend an ipod for christmas, it showed up at my home two days after i ordered it. the wait sucks, but once i have my mac it will all be worth it.
I got my first Mac on Christmas too. It is so much better than Windows. I would get rid of my PC and just use my mini but it only has a 80GB HDD so I am using my PC for storage.
