i dont trust ebay at all... even though ive never had any bad experiences/transactions. seems like its all filled with scams. can't even see legit photos of products anymore!

craiglist ftw.

I sold my old non-3G iPhone via Craig's List for $350 CDN. The guy picked it up from me, and paid cash. It took only a day, and no fees.

I've also sold a Palm 650, and a car as well -- all by either Craig's or Kijiji. :D

You will get those offers for anything you sell on eBay. I sold three iPhones and a MB and MBP last month and got those stupid offers for everything I sold.

I think you meant to say : "You will get those offers for items with a high volume of sales and demand, like computers and iPhones/iPods."

Why did you post that you were scammed, when you were clearly NOT scammed? The nerve. Someone *tried* to scam you, but you were not scammed. Please get your language straight the next time you create sensational threads.

There is rich sarcasm here. Relax people.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

A scam? I'd call it a happy ending.

now we're talking!:D

Just got another 3 emails about the first listing saying if I don't send the iPhone they will take legal action against me as I have broken eBay and PayPal rules.

Would have been real funny -- for them -- if you had reported the agent with xxx-xxxx phone number called you up and threatened you. :p

Getting scammed is losing your iPhone and paying a couple hundred dollars/euro to ship your iPhone overseas and never see it again. eBay probably screwed up the transaction, but at least you still have your iPhone and they're refunding your fees. 5 days of your valuable time v. getting scammed...

Bidding was going well until end when someone with 170 feedbacks won my item, sent me an email asking to send invoice and gave me their address but within another 5 minutes I got an email from eBay saying they wiped my listing and were trying to restore the winning bidders account to its original owner. They've given me my listing fees back but I wanted the content of the listing at least to re-list.

I should have made a copy of the listing and took a note of the other high bidders as it's all gone now. I just wasted 5 days of listing my iPhone, very angry:mad:

Benig scammed would involve you handing over the phone and having no money to show for it.

I managed to sell my 1st Gen at the 3rd attempt a few weeks ago, after the same Nigerian guy, a "Mrs Bill Jones" won my auction twice on the trot, and wanted me to ship to Nigeria- then came the fake paypal emails telling me that the paypal funds would not be released to me until I posted the item, followed by ebay emails telling me my account would be suspended. Luckily I managed to find a Second Chance bidder who paid £280 for it in the end.

I must say, I wouldn't have been quite so alert if it wasn't for finding the same scam posted on here at various times, so thanks very much guys, for basically saving me £300!

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard stories of people getting these Nigerian guys to "prove their authenticity" by sending pictures of themselves (the "buyers") holding up signs that say completely ridiculous things that they of course have no idea what they translate to. I think I would be tempted to have some fun if the same thing happened again.

Finally, it sold successfully and legitimately for £240/$450 I'm very happy:)
