OK, I installed Snow Leopard, it did it's thing (took about 30 min) then restarted. My question is how do I know if it took? I can't see anything different at all, which may be the case, but is there a place to look and see if my OS is now Snow Leopard?

I had Time Machine running...and it's been backing up since the installation. Could that have affected it?

Go to your Apple at the upper left screen and select "About This Mac". It should show Version 10.6.
Cool. I expected a little leopard or something. Still not sure what in the hell I bought, but I was at the Mall of America and it was cheap.

No. That's why Time Machine is running, because Snow Leopard replaced most of the system files on your hard drive.
