    Hey all,

I just jailbroke my iPhone after syncing it to my MacBook to create a backup. The backup is there, and I want to make sure it stays there so I have the ability to restore it in case something goes wrong or I need to have it serviced.

My question is, how do I make sure that backup stays the way it is (not-jailbroken)? If I sync my iPhone to iTunes, doesn't it create a new backup? I have "disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods" checked in preferences, but I'm afraid to sync it. Any ideas/clarifications would be much appreciated.

As you can tell, I'm a little nervous about having a jailbroken iPhone, but there are so many things I couldn't do before that I can now!

you can sync and create a backup with no worries.. if something happens and you need to restore, you can restore to the backup that was automatically created, it would just no longer be jailbroken.

Oh, so when I create a NEW backup, iTunes sees my iPhone as normal, and if I were to restore to that, it just wouldn't be jailbroken anymore?
